Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in Indonesia erupted again 7 times, a thick column of volcanic ash as high as 900 meters caused ash rain in residential areas.
Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki erupted again on Friday 5 July 2024, 08.39 local time. This time the eruption ejected an ash column as high as 900 meters from the mouth of the crater accompanied by volcanic ash rain which affected the surrounding area.
The mountain in East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, experienced seven eruptions accompanied by volcanic ash. Weak to moderate pressure crater smoke was observed to be gray in color with medium to thick intensity. Currently, the smoke rises as high as 900 meters above the top of the crater. The eruption that occurred brought lava flows to the northeast as far as around 4340 meters from the center of the eruption. As a result, volcanic ash rained down on residential areas on the slopes of the mountain.
Volcanic ash with thick intensity hit the Hikong Village area, Kringa, Timutawa in Sikka Regency.
