STORYLINE:

A new land-sea cargo delivery route, linking the Russia's Moscow and Chinese ports, was officially launched Friday.

The route, named "Sevmorput Express No. 1," was jointly developed by Chinese shipping company NewNew Shipping Line and Russia's state nuclear power conglomerate Rosatom.

Cargo containers will be transported by railway from the Bely Rast, a terminal and logistics center in the Moscow region, to the port of Arkhangelsk of Russia and then delivered to Chinese ports by vessels via the Northern Sea Route.

The entire route spanning some 13,000 km is expected to take 20-25 days.
