Taupo Winter Festival, the biggest winter event in the Central North Island of New Zealand, kicked off on Saturday on the shores of Lake Taupo, the largest freshwater lake in Australasia.
The annual festival features snow sports, live music, delicious food, and cultural celebrations to showcase the unique culture and natural surroundings of Taupo, known for its stunning natural beauty.
This year, Taupo Light Hub is at the heart of the two-week event.
An audio-visual interactive light display allows visitors to control the lights in the trees by making sound, and an 8-meter-high sun sculpture bathes a section of the area in a "golden glow."
