STANDUP (English): YU JIAMING, Xinhua correspondent
"Global business leaders have expressed their confidence in the Chinese market and vowed to further expand their businesses in the country."
SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): HAN GUANGZHONG, CEO of Mootaa Greater China
"China's economy has been continuously and rapidly growing. And Chinese consumers' living standards are constantly improving. I also feel very positive and satisfied with China's policies to further open up its market in recent years. The openness and innovation of China's economy have provided an excellent opportunity for foreign-funded enterprises to introduce goods and services into China."
SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese): TANG PENG, Vice general manager at SYR Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
"We have always maintained a positive attitude and strong confidence in the Chinese market. In 2023, we invested 50 million yuan (about 6.88 million USD) in Zhejiang to build our first production base in China, which manifests our confidence in the Chinese market."
SOUNDBITE 3 (Chinese): HE CHENGZHENG, Deputy general manager of U.S. biotech enterprise Murad Group
"As a player in the health and wellness industry, we have found that the services we provide have been highly favored by Chinese consumers over the past few years. We discovered that the Chinese market is even better than we anticipated. On one hand, there is fertile ground and an environment that allows companies like ours to thrive. Especially in recent years, the Chinese government has promoted the 'silver economy,' which means that the Chinese society's overall demand will be even greater."
SOUNDBITE 4 (English): AQEEL AHMED CHAUDHRY, Head of Pakistani jewelry brand Winza
"China is one of the biggest markets for the colored gemstones. After many years of experience into China, we have good data of our clientele that (shows) what they are really looking for (and) in which age group they are. Youngsters today in China, their taste is very international. So we see good potential here."
SOUNDBITE 5 (Chinese): PENG LI, Vice president, Government Affairs and Market Access, BD Greater China
"We have taken note of the Chinese government's 'Healthy China 2030' vision, which aligns well with BD's strategy in China. We are delighted to be part of this practice and look forward to further developing our presence in China."
SOUNDBITE 6 (English): TAKEO KEIZO, Managing director of Sumitomo Electric
"I believe China will continue to be a growing market for three reasons. One is because it's simply big. It has a lot of potential growth in the eastern area. Secondly, it has strong support by a very stable governmental foundation. Thirdly, I think with a strong leadership by the government, it would provide growth efficiently, with the government providing opportunities for foreign companies like us."
