1000's of Rugby League fans turned out in West Yorkshire this afternoon (Sun 7th July ) to pay respects to a sporting legend. Fans from around the region and further afield came together in Castleford,West Yorkshire, to say good bye to the late Leeds Rhinos player Rob Burrow CBE on his final journey. Crowds lined the streets along the route of the funeral procession, which started in Front Street,Glasshoughton, before making the journey to Pontefract Crematorium. Rob was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease at the age of 37 in December 2019. Since then he has battled with the disease while winning hearts of millions throughout the country, while raising awareness of the deadly disease. Rob sadly lost the battle on 2nd June 2024.
