A policewoman smashed the window of a car to save two dogs trapped inside.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Northeast Area Command Officer Jennifer Williams responded to a distress call near Lake Mead Boulevard and Hollywood, where two pooches were stuck inside a minivan.

Temperatures reached 100 degrees Fahrenheit, making dogs restless and left inside the vehicle by their owner.

Footage shows the officer asking to see if anyone knew the car owner, but no one could identify the driver, so she used a rod to break the glass and extract the dogs inside.

The window shattered before the policewoman unlocked the door and took the pooches out of the hot car.

The canines were given a health check by veterinarians and then transported to a local animal shelter.
