The parade, held in the capital city of Caracas, included over 10,000 armed police and featured 46 Russian soldiers as special guests.

President Maduro delivered a speech expressing gratitude for the support from brotherly countries and called for peace.

July 5, 1811 marked Venezuela's formal separation from the Spanish crown when its congress approved the Venezuelan Declaration of Independence. Venezuela was the first South American nation to rise up for independence.
