USA: Floridians band together to assist victims of Hurricane Beryl
Miami, Florida, USA - Recent
Storyline:
In a heartwarming display of solidarity, communities in the U.S. state of Florida are uniting to support communities hit by Hurricane Beryl.
Beryl made landfall on the island of Carriacou in Grenada earlier this week, becoming the earliest Category five hurricane in the Atlantic on record. It has killed at least nine people in the Caribbean.
A warehouse at the Global Empowerment Mission in Doral, Florida, serves as one of the drop-off locations across South Florida for those who want to help.
Volunteers of all ages are helping pack essential relief aid for those affected.
Ten-year-old Andrea Rujano is part of a group of volunteers hard at work packing and boxing relief aid for the victims of Hurricane Beryl in the Caribbean.
For Victoria Greber, another volunteer at the Global Empowerment Mission, hurricane relief efforts are close to her heart.
Whether individuals volunteer their time, donate money, or bring supplies, all these contributions are valuable and accepted at this organization looking to help those affected by Hurricane Beryl.

"I'm from Puerto Rico. My island suffered Maria a few years back. I had family there. I was here. As much as I wanted to do something, I couldn't do anything except help to get aid over there. So, I can understand what some people are feeling having people in their islands, having people there, and they don't know what to do. So, if it's the only thing you can do, then by all means, donate your time. It's one hour, two hours, whatever you can."
