A dramatic high-speed chase culminated in a crash after a Fenton man allegedly carjacked a pickup truck, prompting Michigan State Police to release dashcam footage of the incident. The pursuit began when deputies from the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle on Tuesday morning, only for the driver to accelerate away, leading to the termination of the initial pursuit.

According to authorities, the suspect later carjacked a white pickup truck, purportedly wielding a weapon. Multiple police units pursued the truck into Livingston County, deploying spike strips near Owosso Rd. to deflate its tires. The chase persisted onto Grand River Ave, where the truck collided with a Lexus SUV.

As police approached with guns drawn, they ordered the SUV's occupants to take cover while apprehending the suspect. Medical professionals evaluated everyone involved in the crash before the suspect, described as in his 60s, was detained and lodged in Ingham County Jail. Charges are pending in both Ingham and Livingston counties, reflecting the seriousness of the incident.
