Firefighters are currently engaged in extensive rescue operations across northern Piemonte due to heavy rainfall. Teams in Verbano and Torino provinces are actively responding to landslides, debris flows, and assisting individuals in distress.

In Locana (TO), 37 people stranded in a restaurant by a landslide were safely relocated to secure areas yesterday. In Mathi, also in Torino province, two families were preemptively evacuated from homes threatened by flooding from the Stura di Lanzo River.

Overnight, firefighters from Torino conducted a rescue operation between Montanaro and San Benigno Canavese, successfully rescuing two adults and a 3-month-old baby trapped in a car due to rising waters from the Orco stream (see intervention photo). In Noasca (TO), specialists are working to clear landslides obstructing the road to Ceresole Reale.

In the Upper Verbano area, particularly Macugnaga, teams have evacuated several individuals to safety due to multiple points of Anza stream overflow. Since 5:30 AM this morning, the Piemonte flight unit's Drago helicopter has been conducting aerial surveys of the affected areas.
