STORYLINE:

Chinese and Australian college students joining a summer camp visited China's Ma'anshan City on Saturday.

They came to the Lingjiatan relics site, a Neolithic settlement site dating back 5,300 to 5,800 years.

Archaeologists believe that Lingjiatan serves as a testament to the 5,000-year-old Chinese civilization.

Since it was discovered in 1985, excavations have been carried out. Exquisite relics such as jade wares, stone artifacts and potteries have been unearthed from the site.

"I love learning about their culture and history. They make everything into an art form. And they have very rich and deep culture. This can be seen through the use of jade, which was used to emphasize and emulate someone's social standing, which I found interesting about how the more the bands of jade individuals would wear, the highest status they were, and the tools used to shape and influence the jade, and the representation of animals through this jewelry. I find it very fascinating. And I find it so complex that even back in those times, they had customs and traditions that they had to, they created a society based on all these traditions that are still present today."
