Male nurse risks bad injury as he snatches knife from female patient's hands
This is the shocking moment a male nurse is cut and wounded when he tries to stop a patient from harming herself when she suddenly pulls out a knife in a hospital.
The incident took place at a hospital in Tieling, in Liaoning, north-eastern China, on Monday, July 1.
The female patient was brought into the emergency ward with an apparent leg injury and was still sitting on a gurney when a doctor came over to examine her.
Suddenly she took out a knife that she somehow managed to sneak into the facility and began dangerously waving it around.
But a male nurse who stood nearby managed to prevent her from causing any harm to herself or others as he swooped in and grabbed the knife from her hand.
A picture shows the man's arm that was slashed by the blade but hesaid he would do it again if it was to save a life.
He was later identified as Mr Wuand said: 'I was a bit far away at that moment and was the second one to rush over to disarm her. My colleague was in danger, and I couldn't just stand by. If given another chance, I would rush in even faster.'
The hospital later stated the woman patient is now in good and stable condition.
