Insta360 video selfie goes wrong when camera drops into sea
A group of tourists' Insta360 video selfie went wrong when their camera dropped into the sea.
The island hoppers wanted to include the beautiful view in their photo using a javelin shot stick attachment to the device but it fell to the water off Boracay Beach, Aklan, the Philippines on May 14.
Footage shows the tourists posing for pictures as one of them held the camera on a stick. On the second attempt, the Insta360 detached from the stick and drifted underwater.
Almost 20 seconds later, a diver found the camera and returned it to the boatman who was guiding the group.
The camera's owner Reamie Ann Acebuque said: ‘I bought the javelin shot stick and tried it a couple of times but we might have thrown it a little too hard on the boat and fell.
‘I thought my Insta360 would be lost in the sea but thanks to the diver it was found.'
Insta360 is a Chinese technology company specialising in creating 360-degree cameras for various uses, from action sports to professional filmmaking.
They are headquartered in Shenzhen, China, with JK Liu as CEO.
