This is a moment a mischievous child blows himself up after throwing firecrackers down the sewer.

The incident occurred in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, China, and was captured on surveillance footage on July 5.

Three nearby manhole covers were also blown away. Fortunately, the flying manhole cover did not hit the child directly, landing less than half a metre away from him. The boy's parents, not named in local media, stated that the 'child was scared but fine'.

The parents and property company staff confirmed he was unharmed and the manhole cover had been repaired.

A nearby car was damaged, and they compensated the owner for the repairs. Additionally, they arranged for someone to clean the windows and doors of a nearby store.
