Locals smash car window sinking in swamp to save family stuck inside
This is the heroic moment a dozen villagers smash the window of a sinking car with a rock and successfully save four people stuck inside.
The vehicle lost control and ploughed into the pond in Guangdong, China on July 2.
Footage shows locals desperately trying to rescue the four people who had become trapped inside the overturned vehicle.
They can be seen in the video frantically trying to extract the family, with one of them hitting one of the car windows with a rock, eventually smashing it and allowing the trapped people to be removed.
The footage then shows two of the villagers pulling a lifeless child from the vehicle and lifting them to safety.
Two of the villagers are then seen performing resuscitation manoeuvres including chest compressions in a desperate bid to revive the child.
The footage shows them trying to save the tot's life until the very end of the clip.
The second piece of footage shows them continuing their rescue attempt and after a minute and a half of frantic chest compressions the child opens their eyes.
The villagers are then seen giving the lethargic child massages towards the end of the video.
Local media reported that the villagers were able to save the lives of four people, including a pregnant woman, two men and a child.
