But joker Ithanara had the last laugh when she finally walked him to the altar for a stunning beachside ceremony in Vitoria, Brazil.
As she pulled out her written wedding vows, a local tradition, she had theguests in stitches as she blew off a huge cloud of dust,
As the crowd laughed and clapped as Ithanara explained: 'These vows were kept for a long time.'
Speaking after, Ithanara explained: 'My husband and I are very playful with oneanother, people already know us like that.
'So we said that one would surprise theother in the ceremony but no one knew, not even the official.'
The pair's first wedding date was cancelled by the pandemic and two further planned dates also came and went.
Ithanara told local media: 'Our first date was February 2, 2021. I had alreadybought the dress and sandals, and our friends were eagerly anticipating and asking when itwould happen.
'I joked with them, saying that everything was there, gathering dust and cobwebs, and so this joke became a thing between us.'
