STORYLINE:

The Bohemia JazzFest, one of the largest summer jazz music festivals in Europe, kicked off in Prague, the Czech capital, on Tuesday.

Founded by Czech-born jazz guitarist Rudy Linka in 2005, the festival aims to present and promote world-class jazz in the Czech Republic. It attracts many jazz fans to enjoy the open-air concerts for free.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): Visitor of the festival
"Bohemian JazzFest is a perfect festival. I love it. I go every time because I'm a musician myself. I'm a singer, and these people who are playing, they're my bandmates, so I'm really, really pleased to watch them live."

SOUNDBITE 2 (Czech): Visitor of the festival
"Because I think it's a fantastic idea that younger people are attending, not just orthodox jazz enthusiasts. It's really great, and I love this idea a lot."

SOUNDBITE 3 (English): RUDY LINKA, Festival organizer
"I think that the festival has many different levels. One is that it features Czech artists in a very international setting. And also the atmosphere, because I have to say, audience in the Czech Republic is fantastic, because they really appreciate music, and they stay, and they listen, and I cannot ask for anything more as a musician."

This year's 19th edition of the festival will last until July 16. In addition to Prague, the festival will be held in several other Czech cities, featuring performances by artists from countries such as Spain, Poland, and Austria.
