Coach collides with milk tanker in India killing 18 and injuring 19 in India
A coach crashed into a milk tanker, killing at least 18 people and injuring 19 others in India this morning.
The double-decker bus collided with the tanker while trying to overtake it along the Lucknow-Agra expressway in the city of Unnao, Uttar Pradesh state, on July 10.
Gaurang Rathi, District Magistrate of Unnao, said: 'Today at around 5:15 am, a private bus coming from Motihari, Bihar, collided with a milk tanker. Eighteen people have lost their lives, and 19 others are injured in the accident.'
Nineteen individuals were injured, three of them critically, and were rushed to a hospital.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the families of the deceased and wounded will receive financial assistance from the government.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences for the tragic incident and said he has directed officials to ensure that the injured receive the necessary care and support.
