An outrage erupted as illegal traders released cats on an overpass, resulting in tragic deaths in eastern China.

The shocking video was filmed in Wuxi City in Jiangsu Province on July 6.

A citizen spotted a truck loaded with cats on Xicheng Canal Bridge in Wuxi. The truck had cats cramped in small cages. However, upon realizing they were being filmed, the traders did not stop their illegal activity. Instead, they resorted to an extreme measure.

To evade legal consequences and destroy evidence, the traders opened the cages on the bridge, releasing all the cats. The cats scattered across the fast lanes, with some tragically struck by speeding vehicles.

Following the exposure of this incident, Wuxi authorities swiftly took action. They organized professionals to rescue the cats on the bridge and properly handle the remains of the deceased cats.

An in-depth investigation was launched to track down the traders and hold them legally accountable. Additionally, officials vowed to intensify their crackdown on illegal cat traders and protect animal rights.

据目击者称，7月6日早上7点左右，在无锡市锡澄运河大桥（另有报道提及无锡惠山区杨家圩大桥）高架上，有市民发现了一辆装载大量猫咪的非法运猫车，车牌号为苏B17W6W。车内猫咪被关在狭小的笼子里，情况十分可怜。然而，当猫贩子察觉到自己被发现并被拍摄时，他们非但没有停止违法行为，反而采取了更加极端的措施。

为了逃避法律追究和销毁证据，猫贩子在高架桥上迅速打开笼子，将一车猫咪全部放出。猫咪们在快车道上四处逃窜，部分猫咪不幸被高速行驶的车辆撞死，现场惨状令人痛心。

事情曝光后，无锡市相关部门迅速行动起来。他们一方面组织专业人员在高架上搜救猫咪，妥善处理死亡猫咪的尸体；另一方面展开深入调查取证工作，追踪猫贩子的下落并依法追究其法律责任。此外，相关部门还表示将加强对非法运猫等违法行为的打击力度，切实保护动物的合法权益。
