2024 China Internet Conference opens to promote digital cooperation

Leading experts, entrepreneurs and innovators are getting together at this year’s China Internet Conference to discuss and deliberate on the world wide web.

"China’s internet is in its best period of development. The number of internet users in China exceeds 1 billion. Improvements have been made in both quantity and quality of the internet infrastructure. Breakthroughs have been made in key technological industries."

In the overall internet development strategy in China, integration of 5G with new-generation information technologies is being attached the greatest importance.

Zhao Zhiguo, Chief engineer, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology:

"The development of the 5G networks and 1000M (megabit) fiber optic networks needs to be stepped up and their application extended to more settings. We need to speed up the construction of a national computing power network."
