This is the moment a factory explodes in a giant blast as it goes up in flames in the middle of a city in China.

The incident took place at the Dongsheng Glue Factory onDongxiang Industrial Road, in Zhongtang, Guangdong, formerly Canton, between Hong Kong and Macau on China's southern coast on Sunday, July 7.

Footage captured from a road passing by the building shows it erupting into a giant fireball as deafening explosions are heard in the background.

The video also shows a huge plume of black smoke rising into the sky as the fire is filmed from a distance, on the other side of a river.

Loud booms from the explosions could also be heard as the fireball engulfed the factory.

Local media reported that there were no casualties although some resident were sent to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

It is currently unclear what caused the fire and the police are investigating the incident.
