A man broke a window to save a motorist from a drowning car in eastern China.

The heroic video was filmed in Lianyungang City in Jiangsu Province on 9 July.

A woman found herself in a perilous situation when her car became trapped in deep floodwaters under a bridge due to heavy rains. Mr Sun, a good Samaritan, witnessed the scene and bravely jumped into the water to save her.

The underpass was submerged under more than three metres of water, and the woman's car was stuck in the deepest part.

Acting quickly, Sun smashed the car window with a rock and then tore open the car window to pull the woman out to safety.

The car eventually sank into the deep water, but thanks to Sun's timely intervention, the woman escaped unharmed.
