United States: Irwindale Pursuit Bicyclist Fatally Struck Clean Video
Los Angeles, United States - July 10, 2024
07/09/2024 08:34 pm (GMT-0700) | IRWINDALE, Calif. – A high speed pursuit which started in El Monte resulted in a bicyclist being killed on the 1500 block of Arrow Highway Tuesday evening. There are unconfirmed reports that the vehicle was initially reported stolen from a dealership in El Monte. The suspect vehicle appears to be a white Range Rover. Irwindale PD confirmed off camera that El Monte PD was in pursuit of the suspect vehicle prior to the collision. Officers stated off camera that El Monte PD had canceled their pursuit prior to the suspect colliding with the cyclist. The vehicle was traveling eastbound on Arrow Highway when it struck the bicyclist on the east side of the river crossing. The gender and age of the victim is unknown at this time. The cyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. Irwindale PD could be seen using 3D scanning technology to capture the crime scene. The suspect vehicle was seen abandoned approximately 1/2 mile east of the impact location. It's unknown at this time if the suspect was taken into custody. Traffic was closed in both directions while officers continued their investigation.
The victim was not covered in the roadway, and the video here is blurred.
