Seychelles - July 08, 2024

The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy hospital ship "Peace Ark", currently undertaking the Mission Harmony-2024, dispatched a team of experts to the Victoria Hospital and local community hospitals in Seychelles on Monday for an exchange visit.

Victoria Hospital is a major general hospital in Seychelles, staffed by doctors and nurses from around the globe. In May 2023, China's 19th medical team was stationed at the hospital, primarily focusing on cardiology, orthopedics, and general surgery.

During the medical exchange visit, experts from the respiratory medicine, neurosurgery, and ear, nose, and throat departments on the “Peace Ark” held discussions with Seychelles' medical personnel and medical aid team members in Seychelles.

They also conducted joint ward rounds, directly engaging with patients and medical staff.

Chinese experts shared their insights and recommendations for the examination and treatment of diseases such as pulmonary embolism and infective endocarditis, providing valuable input to their Seychellois counterparts.
