A pet cow spooked by a marching band playing the drums gored a father walking down a street in Thailand.

CCTV footage shows the brown bovine attacking Nitipoom Senaiam, 49, with its horn and flinging him onto a neighbour's front yard in Nakhon Si Thammarat province on July 2.

It continued to maul its owner, who had fallen to the ground, while concerned onlookers rushed to scare the animal away.

The cow then left and returned home while the Nitipoom was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and received 32 stitches for his wound.

Nitipoom's daughter said: ‘The cow is usually not aggressive, but that day, the students were practising for a parade. It might have been spooked by the sounds.'

The father was wounded on his thigh but sustained no serious injuries.
