A dolphin was born naturally in an artificial breeding environment in China.

The juvenile measured 3.2ft-long and weighed 10kg at birth, then swam to the surface to take its first breath at Harbin Poseidon Tourism Resort in Heilongjiang province.

Currently, the mother dolphin remains inseparable from her baby, which is now 10 days old and in good health. Its mum often lifts the baby to the surface to make sure it is breathing properly.

The scenic spot has implemented specific measures to ensure the well-being of both the baby dolphin and its mother. Customized 'confinement meals' have been prepared for the mother dolphin, taking into account her dietary preferences and professional nutritional ratios to replenish her energy.

Staff also said detailed records of the baby dolphin's feeding time, frequency, breathing times, and the mother dolphin's physical recovery and breastfeeding conditions are kept.
