A rider narrowly escaped an electric bike explosion in northern China.
Dramatic CCTV footage filmed in Tianjin on June 27, shows an electric bicycle moving along a street when smoke suddenly billowed from its underside, quickly engulfing the entire vehicle.
The rider halted and ran away from the electric bike just seconds before it exploded.
The bike erupted in five intense explosions, sending flames skyward and thick smoke into the air.
Despite his swift escape from the scene upon the explosions, the rider was visibly shaken by the intensity of the incident.
Upon receiving the alert, firefighting units promptly arrived and managed to extinguish the blaze. Concurrently, authorities cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to determine the precise cause of the accident.
Preliminary findings suggest the incident may be linked to quality issues with the vehicle's battery.
