Detective Consta-bull! Escaped bovine climbs onto police station roof in India
An escaped bull climbed onto the roof of a police station for a nap.
The bovine wandered into the compound of the Salon Police Station outpost and was only noticed by officers when it was already on top in Uttar Pradesh, India, on July 11.
Footage shows the farm animal resting near the ledge of the building. Baffled cops said they did not know how the bull reached the roof.
The bovine was scared as officers climbed up to help it descend and jumped down before landing on top of a shack.
In India, devout locals follow Hindu customs, with cows regarded as sacred animals that cannot be eaten or slaughtered once they have stopped producing milk. The majority of states ban the sale or slaughter of cows.
Instead of dealing with the economic burden of keeping their spent cattle, many farmers let the beasts roam the streets - leading to chaos when the animals become agitated and turn their fury on humans, or in this case, climbing onto the roof of the local police station.
