STORYLINE:

Seven illegal migrants were injured on Thursday in Türkiye's northwestern province of Kirklareli, near the border with Bulgaria, after they ignored police warnings to stop, state-run TRT broadcaster reported.
   
According to TRT, the incident occurred when a truck carrying 58 illegal migrants approached the Derekoy border gate. Security forces and gendarmerie units attempted to intercept the vehicle upon receiving intelligence that it planned to transport illegal migrants into Bulgaria.
   
The driver ignored the warning and continued driving while seven migrants tore the tarp over the truck's trailer and jumped onto the road, TRT said.
   
Two critically wounded migrants have been taken to Kirklareli State Hospital, while the others were transported to the gendarmerie command for legal procedures. The driver was also arrested.
   
The nationalities of the migrants were not immediately clear.
