On July 10, a stunning meteor shower, identified as a "grazing bolide," amazed observers as it streaked across the Gulf of Lion and Narbonne regions at 20:55 UTC (22:55 CET). The event marked a rare celestial spectacle.

In a historic video from Esparraguera, Barcelona, viewers witnessed the meteoroid's final fragmentation, leaving a trail of rocks ablating in the mesosphere. The event garnered numerous reports and fascinated onlookers across the region.

From Pico Bartolo in Benicassim, over 500 km away, comes another remarkable video of the meteoric bolide's initial phase, setting a record for its visibility.

Further observations from Sant Celoni, Barcelona, highlighted the meteoroid's luminous phase, which spanned altitudes from 90 to 36 km above sea level, as it blazed through the atmosphere at a staggering 94,000 km/h.

An astrometric analysis of the radiant, velocity, and orbit confirmed the meteor shower as a significant event linked to the Alpha Capricornids meteor stream. The astronomical community expressed gratitude for the numerous reports received, contributing to a deeper understanding of this celestial phenomenon.
