Frantic tourist takes store clerk as hostage when police arrive
This is the intense moment a frantic tourist took a store clerk as a hostage in front of police.
Cai Nan, 33, asked the woman for help because he felt that someone had been following him in Taipei, Taiwan, on July 11.
Footage captured by onlooker Yaojen Yang shows the paranoid man holding a pair of scissors directed towards the neck of the staff member while the authorities told him to put the object down.
He can be heard shouting and telling the team to not force him.
Eventually, after minutes of persuasion, he dropped down the scissors and released the worker from his arms.
The police then arrested him and will investigate what happened.
