STORYLINE:

After a year's study in China, Kazakh student Mayerly Kristina will soon graduate from Lanzhou University and return to her home country.

"Hello, my Chinese name is Mingyu, and my original name is Kristina. I'm from Kazakhstan."

During her time studying in Lanzhou, Kristina fell in love with this incredible city - a place that feels like home.

"I often took a walk along the Yellow River, or at the White Pagoda Mountain and the Zhongshan Bridge. Lanzhou feels like home to me. During the Spring Festival, I saw for the first time how Chinese people celebrated this festival. They are very enthusiastic, just like Kazakh people."

Kristina also traveled a lot across China and was impressed by many other cities.

"Xi'an is a historical city, with a long history. So I think if you want to know the history of China, you should go to Xi'an. The city of Chengdu is a city of giant pandas, so I particularly like this city. If I have a chance, I would often go to the city."

Kristina is preparing for the application for a new program and hopes to return to China in the near future.
