USA: Dog Injured by Firework Attack in Santa Ana
Santa Ana, United States - July 10, 2024
Santa Ana Police Detectives are requesting public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a disturbing incident where a dog named "Romeo" was injured by a firework over the 4th of July weekend.
The suspect, driving a distinctive 4-door sedan described as gold-colored with black aftermarket wheels, aftermarket taillights, a black rear trunk spoiler, black gas cap, and rear tinted windows, stopped in front of a residence on 1800 W. Pine St. The unknown male deliberately threw a lit firework into the front yard, where it exploded near Romeo. The explosion caused significant burns and bleeding to Romeo's face, although his injuries were fortunately deemed non-life-threatening, and he is currently recovering under the care of his owners.
Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident or the suspect vehicle to come forward and assist in identifying the perpetrator. The Santa Ana Police Department remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all community members, including their animal companions.
