Man detained and searched for “displaying Israeli flag” in London park during pro-Palestine demo
The unidentified man - who was flying a Union flag and an Israeli flag - was detained and searched today (July 13) under a new law, Section 11 of the Public Order Act. He was in Russell Square Gardens in Central London displaying the flags during a pro-Palestine demo being held by a group called ‘Youth Demand’. Members of Youth Demand were also searched under the new powers.
