"It's my childhood dream to come to the Shaolin Temple and do some training with a big master."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): JUAN SEBASTIAN CORRALES, Colombian participant
"Shaolin Kung Fu lets me be in the moment, forget about what I am thinking and feeling, and lets me express myself, the inner self."

SOUNDBITE 3 (Chinese): MARCO VALERIO ESTRADA, Volunteer from Costa Rica
"Coming to China to learn such a profound culture is very helpful to me. I came to be a volunteer because my native language is Spanish, and I can also speak English. This event requires many translators."

SOUNDBITE 4 (English): KANISHKA SHARMA, Indian Shaolin disciple
"When I was small, I always watched Shaolin Kung Fu movies. So in my mind, I always told my papa that I wanted to be a Shaolin sujiadizi (disciple). I want to bring back Shaolin (Kung Fu) to India. After the COVID, I come here for the first time. And now I meet the master. I make a plan to bring my tudi (students) here."

In 2023, the Shaolin Temple completed the continental Kung Fu competitions across six continents.

The event attracted over 20,000 martial arts practitioners from 101 countries and regions.
