The heroic actions of volunteers helped and saved construction workers who were electrocuted on the roof of a house in Indonesia.

A construction worker from Palembang City was electrocuted while repairing the ceiling and roof of a house in Seberang Ulu I District, Palembang, South Sumatra on Sunday 14 July 2024.


The victim was identified as Ishak (55 years old), a resident of Lawang Kidul, IT II District, who suffered black wounds on his head and legs due to an electric shock.

He was shocked when the light steel he was holding touched a high-voltage cable.

After being stung, the victim bounced and hit the glass, causing his head to be injured.

The victim, who was still conscious, was immediately evacuated by a number of volunteers from PMI Palembang City. After being evacuated, the victim was rushed to the Bari Regional Hospital.


Firdaus (45 years old), the victim's colleague, said the incident occurred at around 13:00 local time.

"I was shocked when I was electrocuted, I immediately screamed for help, I was lucky that his life was saved," said Firdaus.

Currently the victim is undergoing medical treatment at the hospital, fortunately his life can be saved.
