USA: LAPD Officer Involved Shooting in Vermont Slauson

07/14/2024 12:00 am (GMT-0700) | VERMONT-SLAUSON, SOUTH LOS ANGELES – LAPD is actively investigating an officer-involved shooting in the 400 block of West 66th Street in LAPD's 77th Division area, according to initial information regarding the incident.
Information from the investigation was later posted to X from the LAPD PIO:
LAPD NEWS: This is preliminary information about an OIS in 77th St Div. On July 13th around 10:25 pm, a 77th St Vice sergeant was on duty in plain clothes in an unmarked police vehicle when an OIS occurred. The shooting took place on 66th St, west of Flower.
One male suspect was struck by gunfire, transported to a local hospital where he has died. Following the OIS, a vehicle pursuit ensued & three people have been detained. As the investigation continues, additional information will be provided and posted to X.
