Gaza: Southern Gaza's Nasser hospital overwhelmed with victims of mounting Israeli attacks
Gaza - July 14, 2024

Storyline:
The Nasser Medical Complex, a major hospital in southern Gaza, is teetering on the brink of collapse after Israel's latest attack caused mass casualties and dealt another blow to its already strained medical supplies.
An Israeli air strike has killed at least 90 Palestinians and wounded some 300 in a humanitarian zone in Khan Younis, a statement from the health authorities in the Gaza Strip said on Saturday.
The ongoing Israeli ground operation ended up occupying all the different premises of the Nasser hospital, sabotaging all departments and leaving some written statements inside the hospital apparently intended to indicate the full control over the facility by the Israeli army.
The hospital has been racing against time to cater to the surging needs of around 200 Palestinians. Emergency doctors said they lost two patients because of the lack of the appropriate medical equipment needed for the medical interventions.
Rescuers and health workers also struggled to prioritize, triage and save the victims.
Saturday's raid targeted the Al-Mawasi camp, where thousands of displaced Palestinians are sheltering in the west of Khan Younis. Some survivors recounted the horrific scenes during the deadly strike.
The health system in Gaza at large has been struggling because of intensive Israeli targeting and bombardment. Nasser Medical Complex is one of the largest hospitals in the southern part of Gaza and the only operational hospital in Khan Younis. They have been facing enormous technical issues and supply shortages to offer life-saving medical care.
Gaza's health ministry said on Sunday that at least 38,584 people have been killed and more than 88,800 wounded in Israel's war on the besieged enclave since October 7, 2023.
