A unique pet buffalo without horns was displayed during a tribal ritual in Indonesia.

Footage shows the farm animal standing on the muddy corner of the public square during the funeral ceremony in North Toraja, South Sulawesi, on July 11.

It had no pointed projection on the head, but all its parts looked normal, although a coin-shaped bone protruded from either side of its head.

The buffalo was set to be sacrificed for a funeral ceremony by the Torajan tribe.

The Torajans believe that a person's soul remains on earth after death. They hold elaborate funeral ceremonies to help the soul move on to the afterlife. A key part of these rituals is sacrificing a buffalo. They believe the buffalo's spirit guides and escorts the deceased's soul to heaven.
