This is the terrifying moment a plane overshot the runway - skidding through muddy grass as passengers were thrown around in the seats.

The De Havilland Dash 8-400 NG operated by Philippine Airlines (PAL) had landed during heavy rain at Busuanga Airport in Palawan province, the Philippines, on July 14.

However, the pilot appeared to have touched down without enough track for the aircraft to apply the brakes in the wet weather.

Footage taken by passenger Dianne Pagas from inside the cabin of the 86-seat aircraft shows the jet speeding into the grass and plunging into puddles from the deluge.

Dianne said: 'This was the worst landing I've ever experienced. I'm relieved nobody was hurt.'

This is the moment a Philippine Airlines (PAL) plane overshot the runway and taxied on mud amid rainfall.

Philippine Airlines said in a statement that the 53 passengers and four crew members aboard flight PR2670 all safely disembarked with no injuries reported.

The statement said: 'We are working closely with the airport authorities to restore normal operations in Busuanga.'

Airport officials said four other flights were affected by the incident.
