Storyline:
The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip has risen to 38,584, the Gaza-based health authorities said in a statement on Sunday.

During the past 24 hours, the Israeli military killed 141 people, bringing the total death toll to 38,584 and injuries to more than 88,800 since the conflict broke out in October 2023, it added.

At least 14 people were killed in Israeli air strikes on Gaza City in northern Gaza Strip Sunday, local media reported.

In addition, the Israeli army also launched an air strike on a school in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza Strip on the same day. The attack on the school, which is owned by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and is used to house displaced people, reportedly killed at least 15 people and injured 80.

The Israeli military later confirmed the attack, saying the school was a "hiding place for Hamas militants."

On the same day, the Israeli army issued a statement saying that the Israeli forces continued to carry out military operations in the Gaza Strip, and in the operation in Gaza City, the Israeli soldiers destroyed a number of Palestinian military targets and killed several Palestinian militants.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on the same day that the Israeli military operations against Hamas could "continue for years."

Also on Sunday, Hamas issued a statement saying that its fighters exchanged fire with Israeli troops in Rafah and used explosive devices to incur casualties to Israeli troops.
