A plane was stuck in mud following rain at the world's worst airport in the Philippines.

Video shows the ground crew towing the Cebu Pacific Airbus 321Neo, which was mired in a muddy part of the taxiway at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on July 12 afternoon.

The Manila International Airport Authority said in a statement: 'There were no passengers or crew onboard and no injuries reported at the time of the incident.

'Due to the incident, Bays 110-112 are temporarily unavailable for use leaving three (3) parking bays available for wide-body aircraft.'

Low-cost airline Cebu Pacific has apologised for the disruption caused by the plane.

It said: 'This situation is causing ramp congestion and subsequent delays in our operations. Our team is actively working to resolve this issue promptly.'

American luggage app Bounce listed the state-run Ninoy Aquino International Airport as the world's worst airport for business class travellers in 2022. It ranked bottom 38th out of 38 busy airports all over the world.

This year, it was ranked '4th worst airport in Asia' for business travellers by UK website businessfinancing.co.uk, citing passenger reviews for international airports from airlinequality.com.
