Russia: Truck Driver Floors Traffic Policeman When Unsecured Door Swings Open On Bend
Pyatigorsk, Russia - July 7, 2024
This is the moment a traffic cop is sent flying after the rear door of a massive truck swings open as it does a steep turn.
The painful incident happened when the orange KAMAZ dump truck was turning a corner in front of the traffic police officer standing at the edge of the road in the Russian city of Pyatigorsk.
As it turned, however, the rear door flew open unseen by the officer who was walking in the opposite direction, and who was then sent flying as the unsuspecting lorry driver carried on oblivious to what had just happened.
The clip went viral when it was shared on social media after the incident on 7th July, not far from a local car dealership.
The officer, wearing a white uniform shirt, was left lying on the ground after the blow and could be heard shouting in pain, but he was apparently not seriously hurt.
The driver meanwhile carried on, unaware of what had happened.
His colleague and other eyewitnesses ran up to the victim, and the injured 38-year-old police officer was taken to hospital for a checkup.
Police confirmed that they had later tracked down the lorry driver, who was given a breath test and found to be sober.
He nevertheless faces charges for failing to secure his vehicle properly.
