Siberia, Russia - July, 2023

Three schoolboys lost in Siberia have been declared dead after they went missing just over a year ago while on a school trip.

Named only as Alexey, Vyacheslav, and Danil, aged 13, 14, and 15, the boys went ahead on their own on a trek while the adults in their group were helping other children in Kuzbass, Siberia, Russia.

They have not been seen since. Their 32-year-old teacher, not named, faces seven years in prison for negligence, while the children have now reportedly been declared legally dead.

Footage obtained from the authorities shows them searching for the children in a forested area.

Local media in Russia has now reported that the three children have been declared legally dead by the Mezhdurechensk City Court, according to sources at the regional prosecutor's office, while search efforts to locate the bodies remain ongoing.
