A road suddenly collapsed as cars drove past in southern China.

The shocking dashcam footage was filmed in Dongguan City in Guangdong Province on July 15.

The collapse stretched along the central barrier of the road, revealing a sinkhole measuring 23 metres in length, 7 metres in width, and 3.5 metres deep.

Remarkably, no injuries or vehicle damage were reported.

Initial analysis by the construction company suggests that soil erosion caused an underground cavity, leading to the collapse.

In response, the construction company dispatched two excavators and three earth-moving vehicles to the site for emergency repairs. The site manager stated that repairs are expected to be completed by 7:00 am on 16 July, with two lanes adjacent to the collapse reopening to traffic.

经过初步分析，该路面施工单位认为此次塌方系水土流失造成地下空洞所致。由于坍塌处的土质以沙质黏性土为主，局部地质可能突变存在中砂，泥水平衡顶管施工时中沙可能随泥浆流出，导致出现水土流失现象。针对这一原因，施工单位已安排2台挖机、3台土方运输车辆到达塌方现场进行紧急抢修工作。
据现场负责人介绍，预计将在7月16日7点前完成修复工作，并开放塌方外侧两车道的交通。
