On July 14, 2024, at 18:19 local time, Sakurajima volcano in Kagoshima Prefecture in Kyushu, Japan experienced a significant explosive eruption, sending a plume of ash soaring approximately 4,500 meters above its crater.
This event marks the 23rd explosive eruption recorded this year.
