Bear causes panic in village of southern India, successfully rescued by forest officers
In a dramatic incident, a female bear entered southern India’s Karnataka, causing widespread panic among the residents.
The incident took place in Tonisigeri village located in Sandur Taluka of Bellary district on July 14.
Visuals showed how the forest officials along with the villagers captured the bear with a net and then took it back to its original habitat.
Speaking to Newslions, Sandur South Forest Range Officer Girish Kumar stated that Deputy Range Officer Jediyappa and his team along with local villagers, successfully conducted a rescue operation. The bear, which had caused significant fear, was safely captured and relocated. This operation showcased the effective collaboration between forest officials and the local community in managing wildlife intrusions, ensuring the safety of both the animals and the villagers.
