Ceiling collapses after being weakened by heavy rain
A family's ceiling weakened by water from heavy rains collapsed in a home in Thailand.
CCTV footage shows the structure plunging onto the garage after a storm in Khon Kaen province, Thailand on July 16.
Fortunately, the residents were inside the house when the wooden panels broke so it only hit furniture and no one was hurt.
Resident Suwapich Khunlan said: 'Our house was built in 1997 and has never had repairs. Recently it has been raining and there could be leaks in the roof.
'We believe the ceiling collapsed because it held water and moisture for a long time.
Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are at the start of their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms. The rudimentary infrastructure often struggles with the deluge, leading to widespread flash floods.
