A helpful cow licked the back of his pet dog friend - to scratch the pooch's itch.

The one-year-old bovine named Sammy was resting in a shed at a farm when the five-month-old pooch named Kaffee visited in Ubon Ratchathani province, Thailand, on July 14.

Amusingly, Sammy seemingly understood Kaffee's need for assistance to rub its back before the cow began licking it with its tongue.

Footage shows Samm vigorously lathering its tongue onto Kaffee's back, who seemed to enjoy it. Another bovine, one-year-old Laem Thong, tried to join, but it was mostly Sammy who loved to give the rubdown.

Pet owner Udomporn Boonum said: ‘Kaffee got a free massage from its friends. They were so cute and fun to watch.'
