Italy: Mountaineers Rescued from Perilous 3,650-Meter Cliff on Monviso
Crissolo, Italy - July 16, 2024
Early morning on July 16, rescue operations successfully concluded for two mountaineers stranded above 3,000 meters. The helicopter "Drago" landed at Quintino Sella as weather conditions improved, allowing rescue crews to access the climbers who were airlifted from the southern face of Monviso at 3,650 meters.
The climbers were safely transported to Quintino Sella, where the Fire Brigade had established a base camp. Despite enduring a frigid night, both individuals were found in good health upon rescue.
